  1. Barrier Films: Barrier films are designed to provide excellent barrier properties against moisture, oxygen, light, and other gases, helping to extend the shelf life of packaged products. Examples include metallized films, coated films (such as SiOx or AlOx coatings), and high barrier polymers like ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) copolymers.
  2. Antimicrobial Films: These films incorporate antimicrobial agents to inhibit the growth of bacteria, mold, and other microorganisms on the packaging surface, helping to maintain product freshness and safety. Antimicrobial films are commonly used in food packaging and medical applications.
