BOPP Films

BOPP stands for Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene, which is a type of polymer film that is stretched in both the machine and transverse directions. BOPP films are widely used in packaging, labeling, and lamination due to their excellent properties and versatility

Characteristics

  1. Clarity and Gloss: BOPP films have excellent optical properties, including high clarity and gloss, which make them ideal for packaging applications where product visibility is important, such as food packaging, display packaging, and overwraps for consumer goods.

  2. High Tensile Strength: BOPP films have high tensile strength, which means they can withstand significant stretching without tearing or breaking. This property makes them suitable for applications where durability and strength are crucial, such as packaging for heavy or bulky items.

  3. Barrier Properties: While BOPP films are not as effective as some other materials like aluminum foil or metallized films, they still offer moderate barrier properties against moisture, gases, and odors. They are often used in combination with other materials or coatings to enhance barrier performance in food packaging and other sensitive applications.

  4. Printability: BOPP films have good printability, allowing for high-quality printing with vibrant colors and sharp images. They are commonly used as substrates for labels, flexible packaging, and promotional materials where printing is a key requirement.

  1. 5. Heat Sealability: BOPP films can be easily heat-sealed to create a secure and tamper-evident seal in packaging applications. This property makes them suitable for use in food packaging, pharmaceutical packaging, and other applications where product integrity and safety are essential.
  2. 6. Resistance to Chemicals and Abrasion: BOPP films have good resistance to chemicals, oils, and abrasion, making them suitable for use in a wide range of environments and applications. They are commonly used in packaging for snacks, confectionery, personal care products, and non-food items.
  3. 7. Thickness Range: BOPP films are available in a wide range of thicknesses, from thin films used for wrapping and labeling to thicker films used for heavy-duty packaging and lamination.
