BOPET films

Biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate (BOPET) films are a type of polyester film made from stretched polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin. These films are produced by stretching the PET in both the machine (longitudinal) and transverse (lateral) directions, which imparts mechanical strength, clarity, and other desirable properties.

Characteristics

  1. High tensile strength: BOPET films have superior mechanical strength, making them suitable for applications requiring durability and toughness.

  2. Chemical resistance: They are resistant to most chemicals, making them suitable for packaging applications where protection from external elements is necessary.

  3. Thermal stability: BOPET films have good thermal stability, which enables them to withstand high temperatures during processing and use.

  4. Optical clarity: These films offer excellent optical clarity, making them ideal for applications where transparency is important, such as in packaging for food and consumer goods.

  5. Barrier properties: BOPET films can be engineered to provide excellent barrier properties against moisture, oxygen, and other gases, extending the shelf life of packaged products.

  6. Printability: They can be easily printed using various printing techniques, allowing for attractive packaging designs and branding opportunities.
