Applications of Metallised Polyester Films:

  • Suitable for flexible packaging application, especially for higher gloss and barrier properties.
  • Electrical Insulation: PET films are used as electrical insulation in electrical and electronic applications due to their excellent dielectric strength, dimensional stability, and temperature resistance.
  • Labels and Graphics: PET films are widely used as labels and graphic overlays in the printing industry. They offer excellent printability, dimensional stability, and resistance to chemicals and abrasion.
  • Packaging: PET films are commonly used in flexible packaging applications due to their high tensile strength, excellent barrier properties, and resistance to moisture, heat, and chemicals. They are used in the packaging of food, pharmaceuticals, and other consumer products.
  • Industrial Applications: PET films are used in various industrial applications such as insulation tapes, release liners, and laminates. They are also used as a base material for adhesive tapes and reflective films.
  • Solar Panels: PET films are used as a substrate for the manufacture of thin-film solar cells due to their transparency, flexibility, and excellent weatherability.
  • Sewing threads: Yarn grade polyester films are used to make sewing threads due to their high tensile strength and low elongation properties. They provide excellent resistance to heat and chemicals, making them ideal for use in industrial sewing.
  • Weaving: These films are used as warp yarn in weaving applications. The high strength and low elongation properties of yarn grade polyester films make them ideal for weaving fabrics that require high tensile strength.
  • Knitting: Yarn grade polyester films are used as knitting yarn due to their excellent mechanical properties. They provide high elasticity and dimensional stability, making them ideal for use in knitting applications.
  • Embroidery: These films are used as embroidery thread due to their excellent mechanical properties and good color retention. They provide high tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and dimensional stability, making them ideal for use in embroidery applications.
  • Braiding: Yarn grade polyester films are also used in braiding applications. They provide excellent tensile strength and dimensional stability, making them ideal for use in braiding applications where high strength and stability are required.
